  1. XIV. Simplified naming for equipment in the configuration files.

  3. This release allows the installer to specify generic names:
  4.  
  5.         "rb" for robot,
  6.         "tp" for tape and
  7.         "od" for optical disk
  8.  
  9. in the mcf file for scsi robots, tapes and optical drives. The system will
  10. use the information from the SCSI inquiry and the inquiry.conf file to
  11. determine the equipment type.
  12.  
  13. Also the installer no longer needs to specify the samst device path in the
  14. mcf file for tape drives.  Only the /dev/rmt path names are needed.
